Rental Rate Settings

Rate strategies allow you to set rules and strategies that determine how Rategenie generates rates for your rentals. If you want to use a strategy with rentals in different pricing tiers, you can set specific rate settings at the rental level. These rate settings will override matching fields in the rate strategy.

Adding rental rate settings on the settings tab

Rate settings can be added to a rental on the settings tab in the rates overlay. From your rates calendar, click the Settings tab.

Here you can enter values into the following fields:

  • Base Rate: This represents the default rate that will be used for each night, before any rules or strategy adjustments are applied.
This field overrides any value set in the Base Rate field in the strategy details.

  • Minimum Stay: This represents the minimum number of nights that a guest must stay when making a booking.
This field overrides any value set in the Min Stay field in the strategy details.

  • Minimum Rate: This represents the lowest nightly rate that can be generated for this rental. Only manual rates can be lower that this value. Minimum rates will appear on the calendar in red.
This field overrides any value set in the Min Rate field in the strategy details.

  • Maximum Rate: This represents the highest nightly rate that can be generated for this rental. Only manual rates can be higher that this value. Maximum rates will appear on the calendar in red.
This field overrides any value set in the Max Rate field in the strategy details.

  • Price Percentile: This field allows you to set the pricing tier of the rental. The higher the price percentile, the more expensive the rental. Rategenie will use the selected price percentile to determine the movement of the nightly prices generated for the Historical Demand and Genie strategies.
This field overrides any value set in the Price Percentile field in the Historical Demand strategy details.

  • Booking Pace: This field allows you to specify how bookings are made for the rental. Depending on how bookings are made for the rental, Rategenie will adjust the rates at different times of year to fully maximize booking revenue.
This field is only used by the Genie strategy.Additional Guest FeeThe additional guest fee will only apply to a rental if the assigned strategy has an Additional Guest Rule. If there is no Additional Guest Rule, the additional guest fee settings on the rental will not apply to any rates that are pushed to the channels.

  • Additional Fee: This represents the amount that is added to the nightly rate for each extra guest, up to the maximum guest count set on the channel for your listing.
This field overrides any value set in the Additional Guest Rule in the assigned strategy.

  • Guest Threshold: This represents the number of guests that can be booked without being charged the additional guest fee.
This field overrides any value set in the Additional Guest Rule in the assigned strategy.

  • Ignore for Booking.com: Check this option if Booking.com is already adding the additional guest fee to your Extranet calendar. By checking this option, Rategenie will not include the additional guest fee when pushing rates to your Booking.com listing. If Booking.com is already adding the additional guest fee to the Extranet calendar, then this will prevent the rates from appearing too high.

Click the Save button to save the rental rate settings. This will result in new rates being generated for the rental.

Please allow up to a few minutes for the rates to be updated, and the new rates to be reflected on the calendar.

Adding rental rate settings on the rentals page

Rental rate settings can be updated in a few different places. Another one of those places is on the rentals page. Navigate to Rentals.

Here you will be able to view the rental rate settings for all for your rentals. If you wish to add or update any rental rates, you can do so easily by clicking on one of the rows in the table, in one of the rates columns. This will open the Rental Rate Settings modal.

Fill in the fields that you want to update for the rental, and click the Save button to update the rental rate settings. This will result in new rates being generated for the rental.

Please allow up to a few minutes for the rates to be updated, and the new rates to be reflected on the calendar.
